LANI SILK was created to solve a real problem: sleep disrupted by synthetic fabrics that trap heat and irritate skin.
I noticed something during years of testing sleepwear samples. Most "silk" pajamas on the market were actually polyester satin labeled with misleading terms. The real silk pieces I found were either overpriced or poorly constructed. After testing dozens of fabric blends and momme weights, I found that 19-25 momme mulberry silk hit the sweet spot. Dense enough to last. Light enough to breathe.
What I found was simple. Women shopping for silk sleepwear deserved clarity about what they were buying. They needed to know the silk grade, the momme weight, the source. So I built LANI SILK around those facts. No vague "silky soft" claims. Just real numbers, real materials, real construction.
LANI SILK uses 19-25 momme Grade 6A mulberry silk with French seam construction and natural shell buttons. Momme measures silk density by weight. A 22-momme silk weighs 22 grams per square meter of fabric. Higher momme creates heavier, more durable silk. Most department store silk falls between 12-16 momme. Ours starts at 19.
Our [LINK: silk pajamas → /collections/silk-pajamas] and [LINK: silk pillowcases → /collections/silk-pillowcases] are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. This certification tests for over 100 harmful substances. It means the fabric touching your skin is free from residual chemicals, heavy metals, and irritants.
Price range sits between $70 and $250. The direct-to-consumer model removes retail markup. You pay for material and craftsmanship, not storefront costs.
Silk is known for temperature regulation. The fibers conduct heat away from warm skin while retaining warmth in cool conditions. Many customers report reduced night sweats and fewer sleep disruptions. We don't make medical claims. We focus on material truth.

Every LANI SILK product undergoes quality inspection before shipping.
We check seams for consistent stitching. A weak seam means the garment won't survive washing. We test fabric for colorfastness by washing samples and checking for dye transfer or fading. We examine silk for surface consistency, looking for slubs, pulls, or weave irregularities that affect feel and appearance.
Products that don't pass inspection don't ship. They go back to our suppliers or get recycled.
What we don't claim: We don't make medical claims about silk. We don't promise silk will cure skin conditions or reverse hair damage. We focus on what we can verify—material quality, construction standards, and accurate product specifications.

LANI SILK sources silk from suppliers who meet our standards for material quality and ethical production.
Our silk comes from specialized mulberry silk producers. We require suppliers to provide documentation on silk grade, momme weight, and dye processes. We verify OEKO-TEX certification independently. We don't work with suppliers who can't provide clear sourcing information.
Sustainability remains a work in progress. Silk is a natural, biodegradable fiber with lower water use than cotton production. We continue to evaluate suppliers based on worker conditions, environmental practices, and material traceability.

What is momme weight and why does it matter?
Momme measures silk fabric density. One momme equals one pound of silk per 100 yards of fabric 45 inches wide. Higher momme means heavier, more durable silk. LANI SILK uses 19-25 momme—dense enough to drape well and resist wear, light enough to feel smooth against skin.
How do I care for silk sleepwear?
Machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water and pH-neutral detergent. Air-dry flat away from direct sunlight. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Read our [LINK: Silk Care Guide → /pages/silk-care] for detailed washing instructions.
What sizes does LANI SILK offer?
We offer sizes XS through 3XL in most styles. Check the [LINK: Size Guide → /pages/size-guide] on each product page for exact measurements and fit recommendations.
Where does LANI SILK ship?
We ship throughout the United States with free standard shipping on orders over $100. International shipping is available to select countries. See our [LINK: Shipping Policy → /pages/shipping-policy] for complete details.
What is your return policy?
LANI SILK accepts returns within 30 days of delivery for unworn, unwashed items with original tags attached. See our [LINK: Return Policy → /pages/returns] for full terms.
How do I know LANI SILK is real silk?
Every LANI SILK product uses 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk, verified through supplier documentation and third-party testing. The momme weight, silk grade, and OEKO-TEX certification are listed on each product page. These specifications distinguish authentic mulberry silk from polyester satin or lower-grade silk blends.
